Eternal Tools
SKU:6TCB235PTREE
This 6mm Tungsten Carbide Pointed Tree Burr (Shape G) has a double-cut head for efficient, controlled material removal with a smoother finish.
The pointed tree shape is ideal for shaping and contouring, working into corners and narrow areas, creating V-shaped cuts and enlarging or refining openings. Its tapered sides can also be used for blending curved surfaces and rounding edges.
Suitable for use on metals, hard wood, plastics and other hard materials. The 2.35mm (3/32") shank fits many rotary tools, flexible shaft machines and pendant motors, including Dremel rotary tools fitted with a suitable chuck or collet.

Description
Description
What is a pointed tree burr used for?
The combination of tapered sides and a pointed tip makes this shape particularly useful for:
- Shaping and refining concave or curved surfaces
- Working inside narrow slots, grooves and openings
- Reaching into corners and difficult-to-access areas
- Creating and refining V-shaped cuts
- Deburring holes and internal edges
- Gradually enlarging or refining openings
- Smoothing welds and removing excess metal
- Moving between broader shaping and detailed work
The pointed tip can reach into tighter areas and produce sharper internal corners than a rounded tree burr. For flowing curves and rounded internal contours, the rounded tree shape may be more suitable.
Double-cut flutes
The crossed double-cut flute pattern breaks removed material into smaller chips, providing controlled cutting and efficient stock removal. It is well suited to general shaping, levelling, deburring and cleaning up metal components.
Suitable materials
- Mild and hardened steels
- Stainless steel
- Cast iron and cast steel
- Nickel-based alloys
- Titanium and other hard metals
For aluminium, copper, brass and other softer non-ferrous metals, an open-fluted burr designed specifically for non-ferrous materials may resist clogging more effectively.
Will it fit my rotary tool?
This burr has a 2.35mm (3/32") shank. It can be used in Dremel and similar rotary tools fitted with a suitable 2.35mm collet or adjustable chuck. It is also compatible with many micromotors, pendant motors and flexible shaft systems that accept 2.35mm accessories.
If using a Dremel, an adjustable Dremel Multi-Chuck is usually the most convenient option.
How to use
- Secure the shank firmly and as deeply as practical inside the collet or chuck.
- Start the rotary tool before bringing the burr into contact with the workpiece.
- Use light, controlled movements and allow the flutes to cut.
- Take particular care not to apply sideways pressure to the pointed tip.
- Do not force, lever or twist the burr sideways.
- Keep the burr moving to avoid excessive localised heat.
- Wear suitable eye protection.
Tungsten carbide is extremely hard but can be brittle. Excessive pressure, impacts, chatter or sideways leverage may damage the cutting head or shank.
