6mm Tungsten Carbide Pointed Cone Burr – 2.35mm Shank
Eternal Tools
SKU:6TCB235PCO
This 6mm Tungsten Carbide Pointed Cone Burr (Shape M) has straight tapered sides and a narrow tip for precise shaping and controlled material removal.
The cone shape is particularly useful for chamfering edges, creating V-shaped grooves, refining angled surfaces and working inside tapered holes or narrow openings. Different parts of the tapered head can be used to produce a range of cutting widths.
Its double-cut flute pattern provides efficient stock removal with improved control and a smoother finish. The 2.35mm (3/32") shank fits many Dremel and similar rotary tools, micromotors, pendant motors and flexible shaft systems fitted with an appropriate chuck or collet.
- 6mm pointed cone-shaped cutting head
- 13.65mm cutting head length
- Double cut for efficient, controlled material removal
- Ideal for chamfering, V-grooves and angled surfaces
- Useful for tapered holes and narrow openings
- 2.35mm (3/32") shank

Description
Description
What is a pointed cone burr used for?
The straight tapered sides and narrow tip make this shape particularly useful for:
- Chamfering and bevelling edges
- Creating and refining V-shaped grooves
- Shaping angled and tapered surfaces
- Working inside tapered holes and openings
- Gradually enlarging existing holes
- Reaching into narrow corners and confined areas
- Removing burrs from internal edges
- Detailed shaping and controlled material removal
The tapered profile allows different parts of the head to produce different cutting widths. The narrow end is useful for detailed work, while the wider section can remove material across a broader area.
Unlike the pointed tree burr, which has curved sides, the pointed cone has a straighter taper. This makes it better suited to producing angled surfaces, bevels and more defined V-shaped cuts.
Double-cut flutes
The crossed double-cut flute pattern breaks removed material into smaller chips, providing controlled cutting and efficient stock removal. It is well suited to general shaping, levelling, deburring and cleaning up metal components.
Suitable materials
- Mild and hardened steels
- Stainless steel
- Cast iron and cast steel
- Nickel-based alloys
- Titanium and other hard metals
For aluminium, copper, brass and other softer non-ferrous metals, an open-fluted burr designed specifically for non-ferrous materials may resist clogging more effectively.
Will it fit my rotary tool?
This burr has a 2.35mm (3/32") shank. It can be used in Dremel and similar rotary tools fitted with a suitable 2.35mm collet or adjustable chuck. It is also compatible with many micromotors, pendant motors and flexible shaft systems that accept 2.35mm accessories.
If using a Dremel, an adjustable Dremel Multi-Chuck is usually the most convenient option.
How to use
- Secure the shank firmly and as deeply as practical inside the collet or chuck.
- Start the rotary tool before bringing the burr into contact with the workpiece.
- Use the narrow end for detailed work and the wider section for broader material removal.
- Use light, controlled movements and allow the flutes to cut.
- Take particular care not to apply sideways pressure to the pointed tip.
- Do not force, lever or twist the burr sideways.
- Keep the burr moving to avoid excessive localised heat.
- Wear suitable eye protection.
This is a shaping burr rather than a drill bit. Do not force the pointed tip directly into the material to drill a deep hole.
Tungsten carbide is extremely hard but can be brittle. Excessive pressure, impacts, chatter or sideways leverage may damage the cutting head or shank.
