6mm Tungsten Carbide Ball Burr – 2.35mm Shank

Eternal Tools

SKU:6TCB235BA

  • 6mm diameter ball-shaped head
  • 2.35mm (3/32") shank
  • Double-cut tungsten carbide
  • Approximately 50mm overall length

This 6mm tungsten carbide ball burr is ideal for hollowing, carving concave areas, rounding edges and creating smooth curved contours. Its spherical shape allows you to work from different angles, making it particularly useful for shaping bowls, grooves, recesses and rounded details.

The double-cut flutes remove material efficiently while providing greater control and a more manageable finish than a single-cut burr.

Suitable for use on metals, wood, plastics and other hard materials. Use with a rotary tool, flexible shaft or micromotor that accepts a 2.35mm shank.

Description

What is a ball-shaped carbide burr used for?

A ball burr is particularly useful for hollowing, carving concave surfaces and creating rounded grooves or recesses. It can also be used for smoothing curved edges, shaping contours and removing material from difficult-to-reach areas.

Double-cut flutes

The crossed cutting flutes break the removed material into smaller chips, helping the burr cut efficiently while offering good control. Double-cut burrs generally produce a more manageable finish than single-cut burrs and are well suited to detailed shaping and material removal.

Suitable materials

Suitable for use on a wide range of materials, including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, wood and plastics.

Will it fit my rotary tool?

This burr has a 2.35mm (3/32") shank. Check that your rotary tool, flexible shaft or micromotor has a suitable 2.35mm collet or adjustable chuck.

For compatible Dremel tools, the Dremel 4486 Multi-Chuck can be used to hold a 2.35mm shank.

How to use

Secure the burr firmly in the tool, leaving as little unsupported shank as practical. Begin at a moderate speed and allow the carbide teeth to do the cutting without applying excessive pressure.

Keep the burr moving across the workpiece to prevent it from digging into one area. Use appropriate eye protection and do not exceed 35,000 RPM.
