3mm Tungsten Carbide Burr Cylinder – Single Cut

3mm Tungsten Carbide Burr Cylinder – Single Cut

Eternal Tools

SKU:3TCBCS9901

This 3mm single-cut tungsten carbide cylinder burr is designed for controlled material removal on hard and ferrous materials. Its straight cylindrical shape is useful for working on flat surfaces, straight edges and internal sides.

The single-cut flutes produce longer chips and provide controlled cutting action. They generally leave a coarser finish than a double-cut burr and are particularly well suited to carbon steel, cast iron, stainless steel and hardened steel.

Comparable in size and style to the Dremel 9901 tungsten carbide cutter.

  • 3mm diameter cutting head
  • 13mm cutting length
  • 3mm shank (1/8")
  • Single cut
  • Straight cylinder shape
  • Plain, non-cutting end

Suitable for use on carbon steel, cast iron, stainless steel, hardened steel, plastics and wood. Use with a rotary tool, flexible shaft or micro motor that accepts a 3mm shank.

Description

What is a cylinder carbide burr used for?

The straight sides of this cylinder burr make it particularly useful for:

  • Removing material from flat surfaces
  • Levelling and smoothing straight edges
  • Working inside slots and openings
  • Cleaning up internal vertical sides
  • Deburring metal components
  • Shaping hard metals, plastics and wood

This burr has a plain, non-cutting end, so cutting should be carried out with the sides of the head rather than by plunging the tip directly into the material.

How to use your carbide burr

  • Secure the workpiece before beginning.
  • Make sure the full recommended length of the shank is held securely in the collet or chuck.
  • Bring the burr up to speed before making contact with the material.
  • Use light, controlled movements and allow the burr to do the cutting.
  • Keep the burr moving to prevent localised heat build-up and uneven cutting.
  • Avoid excessive pressure and sideways leverage.
  • Wear suitable eye protection and respiratory protection where required.
