Diamond Needle File. Crossing. Fine 600 Grit

Diamond Needle File. Crossing. Fine 600 Grit

Eternal Tools

SKU:MDF600C

Introducing the Eternal Tools Fine 600 Grit Crossing Diamond Needle File. Similar to a Half Round file, a Crossing diamond rasp has a curved radius on both sides. Sometimes referred to as Fish Belly Files due to one convex side being slightly more domed than the other. 140mm x 70mm.

While these files have a wide range of applications, they are particularly valued in the watchmaking industry for their ability to create and finish curved surfaces and circles of different sizes and depths. With their pointed edges, crossing files are adept at shaping tight areas within watch hands and gears. This precision filing process, known as 'crossing out', is where these files derive their name.

How To Use Our Diamond Needle Files

Our diamond needle files are versatile and can be used wet or dry. While they last longer when used wet, we understand that using them wet may not always be practical when working on delicate watch or clock parts.

It's important to let the file do the work and not apply too much pressure, especially when working on sharp edges or corners.
